 Jiangsu Shagang Group is located in ZhangJiagang City, a Economic Development Zone of the Yangtze River. It is next to river and sea and owns seven-kilometers deep water line. In addition, the highways extend in all directions. The location enjoys exceptional advantage.

Ltd was an iron and steel enterprise incorporated
with self-financing of RMB450,000 Yuan in 1975.
Since open and reform, according to Scientific
Development Concept, oriented by international
advanced standard and with technological, mechanism
and managing innovation, the group has been striving
for developing in socialist market economy and
realized continual, high-speed, efficient development.
At present, it employs over 9,700 staff, covers
an area of 10sq.km., and has total assets over
RMB43.7 billion Yuan. Company owns a 6.5 million
ton steel sheet production line ( Hot rolled strip
coils 4.5 million ton, wide and heavy thickplate
2 million ton ) unitizing sintering, coking, iron
making, steel making, casting, rolling and other
assorted equipment, 5 world-advanced extra-high
power electric steelmaking and casting lines with
production capacity of 100 ton, 90 ton and 75
ton, 5 alternately horizontal and vertical， twist
free and controlled cooling high speed wire rolling
lines, 6 continuous splitting ribbed bar rolling
lines, 2 cold rolled stainless steel strip production
lines and 1 strip galvanizing line, both of which
are joint venture with Korean steel company Posco.
Current annual production capacity is 10 million
ton of iron,15 million ton of steel, 15 million
ton of rolled products, 1.2 million ton of stainless
steel strip and 0.15 million ton of galvanized
steel sheet. The company is the national largest
electric steelmaking product production base and
the national largest qualitative special steel
production base. Meanwhile, it is Jiangsu important
enterprise, the national extraordinarily large
scale enterprise and the national largest Civilian-run
enterprise.
The "Shagang"brand ribbed bar, qualitative carbon steel and twist free control rolled & cooled wire coil all won National Golden Trophy Award with world-level advanced product quality, Jiangsu Important Name-brand Product, National Customer-Satisfied Products and National Quality Examination Exemption. Besides, the 82B steel wires and the Hot-rolled steel wire rods for cotton steel are placed in the list of national new products. The ratio of quality steel reached approx 45%, quality high speed wire has 35% of national market share and exports takes the first place in China. Ship-building slab is ratified by nine big classification societies such as LR, DNV, ABS, GL. The “shagang” brand hot rolled steel plate past the ISO9001:2000 certification in 2002.
 The main technique economic indicator of Shagang is increased year by year. With rapid development of the comprehensive competitive power, the enterprise keeps advanced stage in the steel industry. It is placed in the 29th place of Top 100 in national manufacture industry, the first place of the economic aggregate in Jiangsu and the second place of the domestic Civilian-run Enterprises in china. The enterprise has successively acquired honors of "National Contribution Award Winner of Excellent Enterprise Management", "National Enterprise with Excellent Quality and Profit", "National Customer-satisfied Enterprise", "National Excellent Enterprise (National Golden Horse Award Winner)" and "Jiangsu Advanced Enterprise for Environmental Protect". Besides, Shagang is placed in the list of the World's 23 most competitive steel enterprises.
Through innovation and development during the period of "Tenth Five-year Plan", it has formed three unique advantages. That is, the comprehensive strength is further strengthened, the development of space is further developed and the locational environment is further advanced. Therefore, it builds the new platform for sustainable development.
According to scientific development concept and general requirements of “the Policy on Developing the Steel Industry” , Shagang formulated “Eleventh Five-year Plan” and strategic target for development “Framework of the Decade”. Insisting on the theme of scientific development and innovative development, the company takes the road of new industrialization.
